柴亚琴：It has been widely thought that surface plasmon polaritons (SPPs) can not be directly excited by electromagnetic wave due to momentum mismatch. A new way to directly excite SPPs is proposed in this worked , Based on atomic gas. Dielectric Properties of the atomic gas can be modulated effectively by adjusting external electromagnetic field. we mainly discuss the way to exciting surface plasmon polaritons by controlling microwave driving field, Different media field intensity distribution of the probe field . moreover,studying the effect of transmissivity and reflectivity.
